Launched in 2009, Africhol is a three-year project of the Agence de Médecine Préventive (AMP) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Africhol has created a sustainable consortium that supports cholera surveillance and research in Africa to build evidence for cholera prevention and control measures (including vaccine adoption). Its goals are to improve cholera prevention and control through evidence-based policies, to build on existing national capacities, and to foster more local research on cholera.
